i-wireless Tour Moves To The Hardwood

Schedule features six different Cincinnati leagues, one Northern Kentucky match-up

The i-wireless Tour moves from the football field to the basketball court with 10 more games for the 2007-08 season.

The schedule features teams from six different Cincinnati leagues and one Northern Kentucky match-up.

Mason and Sycamore tip things off in a Greater Miami Conference tilt on Nov. 30 at Sycamore High School.  The Comets will be competing for the first time in the GMC in basketball after moving from the Fort Ancient Valley Conference while the Aves will be hosting their first-ever Tour stop.

The first Friday in December features a Cincinnati Metro Athletic Conference contest between host Taft and Hughes and then Anderson and Loveland square off in a FAVC Buckeye Division battle the following week.  The Redskins and Tigers, along with Winton Woods, finished in a tie for second place last year in their division.

Following the holiday break, the schedule picks back up with a bang as defending Ohio Division I state champion Moeller visits La Salle in a Greater Catholic League South Division contest.  The Lancers were one of only two schools to defeat the Crusaders last season.

The next week action heads to the Miami Valley Conference as Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy travels to Seven Hills.  The Stingers will entertain the Tour for the first time in this small-school showdown.   Indian Hill takes on Mariemont in a Cincinnati Hills League rivalry game on Jan. 18.

Turpin will be a first time host as the Knights of Kings come calling in late January.  Both teams are coming off of successful campaigns from a year ago, where they finished in a tie at the top of the FAVC Cardinal Division.

Milford will also host the Tour for the first time when they take on Winton Woods in a FAVC Buckeye Division battle on Feb. 1.

The schedule closes out with two big rivalry games.  Lakota East visits Lakota West in one of the biggest rivalry games in all of Greater Cincinnati.  The Tour moves across the Ohio River and into Northern Kentucky for its season finale featuring Dixie Heights at Covington Catholic in a battle of Colonels.

Pre-game festivities begin at 6 p.m. with live broadcasts from media partners ABC Channel 9 television with sports reporter Mike Mattingly and Q102 radio.  Both will be on-site before the game.  Tour sponsors i-wireless, Gold Star Chili, Elite Photography and Coca-Cola will also be on-site with interactive booths.

Logon to hacksports.com each week for game coverage and the i-wireless Tour section for the photo gallery, as well as the Gold Star Chili “Star of the Game.”
